Third Reich forestry, a so-called "Saufeder" (boar spear). Presented to Landforstmeister Karl Klein on the occasion of his retirement.
The tip (35 cm) of the spear is made of iron and bears the maker's mark of Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The wooden handle is decorated with brown leather straps. At the top is a small gold-plated metal tag with the engraving "Zum Ruhestand unserem Karl - Deine Revierförster". Additionally, an 11 cm-long deer horn is attached to the side.
The total length of the spear is 200 cm.
Third Reich Certificate of Retirement to Landforstmeister Karl Klein. Issued on 26. February 1944. Facsimile signature by Adolf Hilter and hand-signed by Hermann Göring (he was also the Reichsforstmeister). Double-sided.
