Certificate "Vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis" to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 25.02.1943. Signed by SS-Oberführer Herbert-Ernst Vahl, Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold winner. On the reserve of the certificate is the reason for the award of the Iron Cross. "During the breakthrough of Kampfgruppe WEIDENHAUPT, Rottenführer Karl Heinz succeeded in reaching the base with his tank after 96 hours in action, despite enemy action and difficult terrain". The battle took place near the airfield southeast of Lossewo after the section Udy.
