Waffen-SS Kavallerie shoulder boards - EM
Description
Waffen-SS, pair of EM-pattern shoulderstraps as piped in the golden-yellow-coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage by an: 'SS-Mann u. Mitglied einer Kavallerie- o. Aufklärungs-Abteilungs' (or SS-soldier who served within a Waffen-SS cavalry- ie. reconnaisance unit).
Both straps show the golden-yellow-coloured- and/or 'silk-like'-type piping attached and have the (later-war-period-) smaller-sized tongues attached (as is more often seen on genuine Waffen-SS shoulderstraps). The straps are minimally mis-matched: one of the straps shows a black-coloured 'backing' whereas the other shows a field-grey 'backing'. Both are, however, presumably worn as a pair.
Both straps - which measure 11 cms. in length each as more often - were clearly worn and do show some minimal age, wear and/or staining.
