Kaiserliche Marine officer's lion head sabre with Damascus blade & ivory handle - WKC

Description

The sabre comes with a real Damascus blade. So-called "Steckrückenklinge mit Schör". "WKC" maker marked and "J. Robrecht Hoflieferant Berlin" marked on the back of the blade. The blade has some stains.

A real ivory handle with intact wire wrapping. No chipping. Gilt brass hilt fittings. A lion's head pommel with inserted glass eyes. Two folding crossguards. Both are fully working. The front crossguard features the crowned anchor. The black leather of the scabbard has been replaced, however, the gilt brass fittings are original. No dents.

A rare sabre! Signs of wear.
