Description

Generalleutnant of the Luftwaffe Martin Harlinghausen served as commander of the "Seeflieger" (seaplane squadron) on Mallorca during the Spanish Civil War (Legion Condor). For his service, he was awarded the Spanish Cross in Gold with Diamonds. During World War II, he served as Geschwaderkommodore of Kampfgeschwader 26 and was also involved in the campaign in Africa. In the last two years of the war, Harlinghausen commanded the II. Fliegerkorps in the Mediterranean and Luftwaffenkommando West.

Legion Condor commemorative silver plate to Oberleutnant Voßköhler / Generalleutnant Martin Harlinghausen.

The front shows the territory of Spain (map) and the engraving "Herrn Oberleutnant z.S. Voßköhler in Erinnerung an die gemeinsame Arbeit vom 4.10.1937 bis 27.10.1938. Die Kameraden des Sonderstabes W." Made of genuine silver. "835" silver hallmarked on the back. "H.J. Wilm Berlin" maker marked.

On the back is also the engraving "Herrn Generalleutnant Martin Harlinghausen zu Erinnerung an Spaniens Freiheitskampf 1936-1939 - La Cenia, Herbst 1959". 

The silver plate was originally issued to Oberleutnant Voßköhler. In the autumn of 1959, he passed his silver plate on to Harlinghausen. Both served in the Spanish Civil War.
