VIEW DESCRIPTION

Two photo albums of a soldier serving with Infanterie-Regiment 522, part of the 297. Infanterie-Division. The division was destroyed in Stalingrad.

The albums show the campaigns in Poland, France and Russia. Among them are also photos taken shortly before Stalingrad. Nice photos of the generals and Knight's Cross winners such as Generalleutnant Siegmund Freiherr von Schleinitz, General der Artillerie Max Pfeffer, General Koch, Gefreiter Sebastian Reiser (Knight's Cross winner), Generalfeldmarschall Ewald von Kleist, Oberleutnant Karl Bieber (Knight's Cross winner), General der Artillerie Walther von Seydlitz-Kurzbach, Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich Paulus, Generalleutnant Friedrich Wilhelm Deutsch, and Oberstleutnant Hellmuth Mäder (Knight's Cross winner). Furthermore some photos of the front and the officers.
