Including a cover letter regarding the sending of thecertificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class certificate. Among other things, the letter stated that "Eine Bestätigung der Nahkampftage kann noch nicht gegeben werden, da vom Regiment noch keine nähere Weisung eingetroffen ist." (A confirmation of the close combat days can not yet be given, since there is no instruction from the regiment). Dated "9.9.1943". Folded.
