Beschreibung

A nice grouping to Unteroffizier Willi Wahle serving as an air gunner and anti-aircraft gunner with Kampfgeschwader 1 "Hindenburg" and Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 24. 

Documents & photos

Luftwaffe Soldbuch. Issued on 8.2.1941. His original photo is in place. Noted awards: 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, Luftwaffe Flak Badge, Luftwaffe Radio Operator & Air Gunner Badge without Lightning Bolts, Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, 1939 Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, and Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in Bronze. He was also awarded the Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in Silver on 18.3.1944 and Gold on 9.7.1944. However, not listed in his Soldbuch. Some pages are loose.

Three excellent Luftwaffe portrait photos of him. Postcard format.

Two Luftwaffe air gunner ID-cards. Issued on 31.3.1943 and 1.7.1943. Both come with his original photo.

Luftwaffe "Beurteilung" assessment. The document also confirms that he was involved in 38 sorties ("Feindflüge"). Issued on 28.12.1944 by 14. (Eis) Kampfgeschwader 3. Signed by an Oberleutnant. A4-format. Four holes.

One document with hand-written information about his promotions and awards. There are also 121 "Kampfeinsätze" combat missions and 4 "Frontflüge" flights on the front are noted on this document.

Certificate to 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. Issued on 4.10.1941. Signed by General der Flakartillerie August Schmidt, Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves winner. 

Certificate to Luftwaffe Radio Operator & Air Gunner Badge without Lightning Bolts. Issued on 13.08.1943. Facsimile signature by Generaloberst Bruno Loerzer. 

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 24.05.1944. Signed by Oberst Franz Reuss, Knight's Cross winner.

Certificate to Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in Bronze. Issued on 10.6.1944. Signed by Generalmajor Franz Russ, Knight's Cross winner.
