Important Third Reich period time Lord Mayor's Chain ("Bürgermeisterkette) of the city of Frankfurt am Main.
A high quality and unique piece of Third Reich history comprising of multi-piece constructed silver chain feathering the Frankfurt eagles as well an an impressive silver bottom part: A national eagle with swastika holding a "1933" dated wreath which shows a picture of Hitler. Three laurels to each side. The round center piece is hollow constructed. The reverse is plated-over.
It shows an engraved dedication:
"Überreicht am 22. Oktober 1933 in der Paulskirche zu Frankfurt a./M."
(Presented on 22. October 1933 a the Paulskirche in Frankfurt am Main."
Full silver example. "835" silver stamped. Manufactured by the maker "Bümler". Maker marked as well as "Handarbeit" stamped. To the front of the picture of Adolf Hitler is another "BM" maker's mark.
