Impressive and unique 1938 dated Third reich period time document roll. A custom made example from iron and brass.
We can only guess what this was made for. In our opinion to preserve important city documents. It could have been stored away inside a wall for example and was planned to be hiding for decades and centuries.
Iron roll. Riveted to the reverse. 13 rivets. Bands of iron swastikas to the top and bottom. A brass national eagle and brass numbers 1 9 3 8 to the front.
Bottom and top were closed. The bottom is still close, the top was opened once to look inside. It was consigned empty to us. The top shows a swastika.
