A very interesting Soldbuch to medic Hauptfeldwebel Karl Schneider serving with Sanitäts-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 9 and 12. Issued on 26.8.1939. Original attached photo. He was in Africa from 5. May 1941. Noted on page 20 "Inhaber hat am 5. Mai 41 afrikanischen Boden betreten".

Awards: German-Italian Campaign Medal, 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with swords and AFRIKA cuff title. Listed on page 15 and 22.

Hauptfeldwebel Schneider was in English captivity from 11. May until 4. October 1943. During this time he was responsible for the care of German prisoners of war in the military hospitals in Bir Bou Rekba and Algiers. After that time he was still in American captivity (Camp 132, from 5. October until 22.October 1943). Noted on page 14. 

Around 26. October 1943 he returned to his unit. Unfortunately, there are no entries about his release from war captivity. 

The front cover has two holes. Good condition. Not easy to find!
